Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center

Session 1 Begins Tuesday, September 8th

CMDC is excited to be celebrating 30 years of discipline, diversity, and dance this fall and would like to show you how we’ve enhanced and updated our studio to meet the needs of our students.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community are our first priority. We’ve structured our program to ensure we maintain and abide by the CDC guidelines and procedures.

Things you can expect when you return:

In-studio Training:

  • Daily temperature and symptoms screening prior to entering the studio.

  • Tables have been removed from the lobby to promote distancing.

  • To reduce density in the studio each day we will be splitting the divisions to maintain the 1:9 ratio (1 instructor/9 students'). For example Division 1a, Division 1b.  Each level will remain in the same classroom if they have multiple classes - for example ballet and pointe.

  • Safe social distances of 6 ft are marked on the floors to designate where each student should stand in the class.

Virtual Training:

  • We understand the precautions of COVID may prevent you from returning to in-person training right away. However, it is important that your dancer maintains his/her physical health and technique. With you in mind, CMDC has partnered with CLI Studios to provide our students with a virtual self-study program.

  • Students will have access to pre-recorded classes of every style and genre tailored to their specific needs and skill set

  • Ability to take these classes at any time, providing your family with flexibility in scheduling.

  • Weekly Zoom sessions with CMDC instructors for live personalized corrections and progress check-in.

Revised Calendar:

To accommodate greater flexibility with potential COVID restrictions, we will hold three 12-week sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring) instead of our normal 18 week sessions

  • Quarter 1: September 8, 2020 - November 23, 2020

    • Holiday: Veterans Day

      • (Boot camp and master classes will be held during the break)
